Our Story

How Wing Snob Was Born

Wing Snob started with one obsession: the perfect wing. Not just good — unforgettable.

Back in 2019, founder Marcus Allen was tired of settling. After years of hitting every wing joint from Houston to Austin and never finding that electric combination of crispy-outside, juicy-inside perfection with sauces that actually had character, he decided to build it himself. A commercial kitchen rental, months of recipe testing, and more than a few scorched batches later — Wing Snob was born.

We opened our doors at 3902 N Fry Rd in Katy, TX, and the community responded. Within the first year, lines stretched out the door on weekends. Word traveled fast — not because of marketing, but because people couldn't stop talking about the food.

Today, Wing Snob is more than a restaurant. It's a gathering spot for families, sports fans, and wing aficionados who refuse to compromise on flavor. Every batch we make still follows the same obsessive standard Marcus set from day one: fresh, never frozen, always bold.

2019 — The Beginning

A Bold Idea Takes Flight

Marcus Allen rents a commercial kitchen and begins months of intensive recipe development. After testing over 40 sauce combinations and three different cooking methods, the first Wing Snob recipe is finalized. The name is chosen because "snobs" settle for nothing but the best.

2020 — Grand Opening

Doors Open at 3902 N Fry Rd

Wing Snob officially opens its first brick-and-mortar location in Katy, TX. Despite launching during a challenging year, word-of-mouth drives a loyal following within months. The Signature Snob Sauce becomes an instant local legend.

2021 — Community Growth

10,000 Customers Served

Wing Snob hits its first major milestone: 10,000 customers served. The team expands from 4 to 12 staff members. Online ordering launches, and catering services are introduced to serve corporate events and private parties across the Greater Houston area.

2022 — Recognition

Best Wings in Katy Award

Wing Snob is voted "Best Wings in Katy" by readers of the Katy Times for two consecutive years. The menu expands to include tenders, loaded fries, and seasonal specialty sauces. The loyalty rewards program launches to celebrate dedicated regulars.

2023 — Expansion Plans

Growing the Team & Menu

Wing Snob brings on head chef Priya Nair, who introduces an innovative dry-rub line and expands the vegetarian options. With 20+ team members and a new delivery partnership, Wing Snob now reaches customers across the entire Katy-Fulshear corridor.

2024–Today

The Story Continues

Wing Snob enters its next chapter with a refreshed brand, an expanded menu of 30+ sauce varieties, and a growing catering portfolio. The team remains committed to the founding promise: every wing, every day, has to be the best one you've ever had.
